Relevant Policies, Projects & Activities
The Wales Tourist Board chairs and co-ordinates the Green Sea Partnership. This is a partnership of over 40 bodies committed to safeguarding and enhancing the coastal environment of Wales. Since the launch of the partnership in May 1996 it has achieved considerable progress in increasing the number of Blue Flag award beaches from 2 in 1995, to 33 in 2003. A Green Coast Award has been introduced to recognise and protect naturally unspoilt rural beaches that meet guideline water quality.
