River rescue team given new boat

The Severn Area Rescue Association has taken delivery of a new boat to deal with inland flooding emergencies.
The £3,000 cost of the aluminium V-hulled Pride of Dursley was raised by the Gloucestershire town's Lions Club.

Coxwain Graham Tudor said: "It became apparent that when we were called inland to deal with flooding work, the existing boats were not suitable."

The craft will join two all-weather vessels at the river rescue team's base at Sharpness Docks near Gloucester.
